Demetre is an investment professional with 30 years of experience in hedge funds, portfolio management, risk advisory, and financial consulting. He holds an MBA and a PhD in Finance & Economics from Rutgers Graduate and Management Schools in New Jersey, USA. His career began in hedge fund research in the New York metropolitan area before he moved into portfolio and risk management roles with several fund management companies.
Alongside his investment career, Demetre has more than 20 years of experience teaching finance and business strategy. He is also the founder and principal of a risk advisory firm in Greece, where he has advised clients on portfolio construction, risk management, and financial planning. His expertise spans both institutional and private client strategies, with a strong focus on sustainable, research-driven performance.
Demetre is a Certified Investment and Risk Consultant, a Fund Manager, and the Regional Coordinator of the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC/USA). He is a country collaborator with the European Financial Planning Association (EFPA/EU), a designated RFC with the IARFC, a Member (MCSI) of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), and a member of the Hellenic Financial Planners Association. He also served as Executive Director of the Hellenic Institute of Financial Advisory Services (HiFaS).
